Message from the President

2/17/2026 7:00 pm

Dear BHE Families,

This weekend’s BHE Après Ski Auction is the PTA's largest fundraiser, and your participation is essential. We are fortunate to be part of a community that truly values education, helps bridge funding gaps, and keeps our school strong when state funding falls short. As our PTA works to maintain BHE’s tradition of excellence, we need your help to MOVE MOUNTAINS!

Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm, generosity and continued support!

Rebecca Alsup, PTA President

2026-2027 Enrollment Survey

2/17/2026 6:45 pm

We are already planning for the 2026-2027 school year! To get accurate information about student enrollment for next year, we are asking ALL families to respond to an Enrollment Survey or at the QR code. We would like to know if your student(s) will be returning to Bunker Hill next year, so answer as accurately as possible. Also, please share this link with any friends or neighbors who may not receive this newsletter and may have plans to enroll at Bunker Hill next year. This could be incoming kindergarten students, students from other schools, or new families moving into the Bunker Hill neighborhoods. Thank you in advance for your help!

*School registration will open in April. More information will be coming soon!

SBISD is making staffing decisions for the 2026-2027 school year. BHE is currently the only elementary school over capacity in the district with 784 students (capacity 750). BHE has 13 classes over State-mandated 22:1 student to teacher ratio (20% of district exceptions). SBISD will present a plan for BHE at the March 2, 2026 Board of Trustees (BOT) Workshop Meeting that may include updated boundaries for BHE. If you are interested in having your voice heard on these topics, you can:

  • Send emails to Trustees and District Administrators
  • Speak at the Feb 23rd BOT meeting at Northbrook HS at 6:00 PM
  • Review the district’s plan, which should be available online on Friday, February 27th and be ready to speak at the March 2nd BOT meeting

For additional statistics, including planned enrollment and capacity at BHE and neighboring elementary schools, please email BHEadvocacy@gmail.com. Click here to see Who does what in public education.

The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dad's of Great Students) empowers dads to get involved in schools, promoting the importance of education and serving as positive role models for students. This initiative, which started 25 years ago, enables dads to be directly involved in schools, enhance security, and emphasize the significance of education. We are looking forward to seeing our BHE volunteers on campus.

School Safety Reminders

11/17/2025 6:00 pm

BHE’s top priorities are safety and learning!  As parents, we are partners with our wonderful educators in maintaining a safe campus that is focused on teaching and learning. Here are a few reminders:

  • During arrival and dismissal, car riders must be dropped off or picked up in the carpool line on the west side of campus, entering from Kimberley.
  • The front parking lot off of Taylorcrest is reserved for buses. Unless you have prior approval from the administration, please do not enter the parking lot during arrival and dismissal.
  • At all times, please respect the families and faculty who have reserved parking spots.
  • When parents and other visitors come to the BHE during the school day, they should ring the doorbell  facing the camera, and state their name and the purpose of their visit.
  • During lunch, visitors should sit and eat with just their student at open cafeteria tables, picnic tables in the Learning Plaza, or tables in the hall just outside the cafeteria. Please don’t sit with or give treats to other children.
  • Unless on yearbook duty, please refrain from taking photos of other people’s children.

We appreciate your support in keeping our children safe and ready to learn while they are at school!
