(Dad's of Great Students) initiative started 25 years ago and empowers dads to get involved in schools, promoting the importance of education, enhance security, and serving as positive role models for students.

Spring Credit by Exam

If you are interested in your 1st - 5th grader taking the Spring Credit by Exam (CBE) to accelerate up a grade level in math or an entire grade level next school year (2025-2026), the deadline to fill-out the application is Monday, January 6th.

Testing will be at BHE within the district testing window which is February 3-14th, during the school day. Contact Kim Lamb if you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of testing for your child or the implications of moving up a grade level in math. January PTA Meeting

Our first PTA meeting of 2025 is Friday, January 10th at 9:30 am. Faculty members and PTA Committees will give presentations and we will announce our BHE School Bell Award winner.  Pre-register to help us with headcount and to have your ID badge printed in advance. There will be refreshments for all.

Auction Kid Creations

The Auction Team is looking for volunteers in the art room starting January 7, 2025 for 1 hour to help our BHE Lions create one-of-a-kind art!  Find your child’s art class day/time and volunteer today. We have limited volunteer spots per class, so don’t’ wait! The art project is simple, so come aboard and help us out! You must be an approved SBISD volunteer to help with this project.

Choice School Application Open

SBISD offers students and families a range of school choices. Choice options include Two-Way Dual Language and the charter schools for middle and high school, Cornerstone Academy and Westchester Academy for International Studies.

Webmaster for 2025-2026

We are looking for a new webmaster for the PTA website! This individual will learn from and work alongside the current webmaster, Kelly Satterwhite, for the 2025-26 school year. No prior experience is required; however, basic knowledge of HTML would be a bonus. Primary responsibilities are weekly updates to mirror the PTA newsletter content and a full website refresh prior to each school year.

Sporting Clay Tournament

Co-Chairs Chris Badger and Jason Cart invite you to the annual Spring Branch Education Foundation Sporting Clay Tournament on February 3, 2025 at the Greater Houston Sports Club. Last year, the SBEF Sporting Clay Tournament raised a record-setting $75,000 for grants to fund innovative SBISD campus and district programs. Join the community for a fund day supporting SBISD staff and students. SBEF is looking for sponsors and volunteers for the event.
