Honor a Teacher

Help us recognize a favorite teacher or staff member! Your nominee should be someone who advocates for all children and exemplifies the values of the PTA. From your nominations, BHE will select one candidate to present to the Spring Branch Council of PTAs for its School Bell Award program. He or she will be honored at an awards ceremony in February, where the district-wide winner will be announced. Feel free to get the kids involved, and solicit their input, too! The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 21st.

Fitness Week

Just before Thanksgiving, students will participate in Fitness Week, with fun and active programming during Specials. We will wrap up our Fitness Week with our school Field Day on Friday, November 21st! It is a tradition for students to wear the color assigned to their homeroom team! See the chart below for your homeroom team's color and wear that color on Friday!

Field Day would not be possible without your help! Please sign up for a time slot to run a Field Day station (AM or PM) or to donate a case of water. To be a chaperone for your child's class, sign up here. Thanks so much for your time and assistance.

Help make the holidays brighter for families at BHE and our sister school, Thornwood Elementary! This year, we have adopted 17 families. If you sign up to purchase gifts, please read the sign up carefully for instructions on how to wrap and label the gifts. On Friday, December 12, SBISD PD will be at BHE to collect toys for Toys for Tots. If you would like to participate, please have your child bring a new, unwrapped toy to school between December 1-12. SBISD PD will distribute the donations to children in need this Holiday Season.

Priced at $35 each until December 13th, after which the price will increase to $40. **Please note that Yearbooks will no longer be available for purchase after January 17, 2026, so it's crucial to place your order before then.** Don't forget to submit pictures through the PTA website!

Please save the date for our inaugural BHE STEM Night coming up on Tuesday, January 27, 2026! This event is sure to be a fantastic evening of STEM learning activities and fun you won’t want to miss!

If you are a parent who serves in a STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering & Math) career and would be interested in manning a table to share hands-on items or activities in your field, please let Mr. Porter know.

Choice School Application Window

SBISD offers students and families a range of school choices. Choice options include Two-Way Dual Language and the charter schools for middle and high school, Cornerstone Academy and Westchester Academy for International Studies. The Choice School application window is open until January 9th.

School Safety Reminders

BHE’s top priorities are safety and learning!  As parents, we are partners with our wonderful educators in maintaining a safe campus that is focused on teaching and learning. Here are a few reminders:

• During arrival and dismissal, car riders must be dropped off or picked up in the carpool line on the west side of campus, entering from Kimberley.
• The front parking lot off of Taylorcrest is reserved for buses. Unless you have prior approval from the administration, please do not enter the parking lot during arrival and dismissal.
• At all times, please respect the families and faculty who have reserved parking spots.
• When parents and other visitors come to the BHE during the school day, they should ring the doorbell  facing the camera, and state their name and the purpose of their visit.
• During lunch, visitors should sit and eat with just their student at open cafeteria tables, picnic tables in the Learning Plaza, or tables in the hall just outside the cafeteria. Please don’t sit with or give treats to other children.
• Unless on yearbook duty, please refrain from taking photos of other people’s children.

We appreciate your support in keeping our children safe and ready to learn while they are at school!
