Room Parent Sign Ups Are Now Open!

Fall and spring Room Parent sign-ups are now open! Room Parents are responsible for coordinating teacher birthdays, winter and end-of-year parties and teacher gift collections, as well as any other special teacher celebration such as a baby or wedding shower. Kindergarten, first and second grade Room Parents will also help coordinate a Valentine’s Day party. A few reminders:

The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dad's of Great Students) program empowers dads to get involved in schools to serve as positive role models who promote the importance of education and enhance security on our campus. This year, we will have two Watch D.O.G.S. at BHE each day. The Gifted and Talented (GT) parent referral window is now open! If you are interested in having your child evaluated for GT services (PGP/SPIRAL) you must complete the referral form by Saturday, October 17th.

Field Trip Shirts

Students will wear their same blue BHE field trip shirts again this school year. If you are a new student and did not order a shirt last year, you may purchase a field trip shirt for $10.

Spirit gear is here! If you weren’t able to pick up at Meet the Teacher, your items are available in the library. Sweatshirts will arrive at a later date. All items must be picked up by Friday, August 21st.

2026 General Underwriting

Our PTA asks for community support for two key fundraising events each year - the General Underwriting Campaign in the fall and our Auction in the spring. We have officially launched our 2026 General Underwriting Campaign and are looking for families and businesses to support our school. Sponsors are investing in the future of our children and will receive the opportunity to advertise your business to hundreds of families, faculty members and administrators at BHE.

It's time to submit your child's masterpiece for our Directory Cover Art Contest. A few works of art will be chosen to be included in this year's Directory. Submissions are due to your child’s teacher by Tuesday, September 15th. Open to all grades, we can't wait to see what your children submit!

We encourage every family to fill out the Big Form before it closes on Friday, September 4th. The Big Form is where you can join the PTA, purchase yearbooks, birthday marquee messages and extra directories, as well as donate to BHE's Underwriting Campaign and our sister school, Thornwood Elementary.
Yearbook
The Big Form is your ONLY chance to order a yearbook, so be sure to do so before Friday, September 4th. Most families purchase a yearbook for EACH of their children since they have signing parties the last week of school. We’re not able to order extra yearbooks for those who forget, so order now!

The Campus Improvement Committee (CIC) invites you to submit requests from Friday, July 31st through Friday, August 14th. Our committee is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and prioritizing these requests to ensure that PTA Funds exceeding the operating budget are allocated effectively to support the school’s strategic goals and needs. We will consider all Fall submissions and provide our recommendations for approval at the PTA General Meeting on August 28th.
Any current PTA member can submit a request and complete the Fall CIC Request Form or go to the PTA website and click 'CIC Request' under the Quick Links on the right.
