1st PTA Meeting
9/2/2025 7:00 pm
Please join us for our first PTA meeting of the year on September 12th at 9:30 a.m. in the MPR. We will approve our budget, reveal the Auction theme and venue, and hear from Dr. Rios and our PTA committees. Save yourself time by RSVPing. By doing so, you'll secure a pre-printed name badge when you arrive on Friday morning, September 12th. Name badges can be pre-printed for school events only if you've previously scanned your photo ID at the front desk. (This ensures you are an approved visitor in our security system, Raptor, for the remainder of the school year.)
The deadline for RSVPing and obtaining a pre-printed badge is Wednesday, September 10th, at noon. Please take note that attending the meeting without an RSVP is still an option, but you may need to wait in line to receive your badge.

New families need to register for a Membership Toolkit account. Returning families, be sure to update your Membership Toolkit account with your student's teacher once it is released in Skyward. Updating your student's grade level, teacher and directory publishing preferences will help ensure the accuracy of our directory. Those who elect to be listed in the directory will receive a printed copy.

Constitution Day
9/2/2025 6:45 pm
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! 5th Grade Constitution Day is Friday, September 19th! Students are asked to wear red, white, and blue attire to show their patriotism. They will learn about the 1780s and 1790s and what it was like to live during the period of The Constitution signing. The students will spend the day learning and participating in hands-on activities such as butter, quilting, doll, and silhouette making. They will also learn about the types of foods eaten during that time and how illnesses were treated.
**Volunteers are critical to making 5th Grade Constitution Day a success. If you are a 5th grade parent, please join us and sign-up!**
We are excited to be able to offer a short performance of “Hamilton,” a musical that tells the story of the Founding Fathers.
Our PTA will provide a Raising Canes lunch for the 5th grade students. If your child requires a special meal, be sure to send lunch with them on Constitution Day.

Help Thornwood Elementary stock its PBIS store. Similar to BHE's Roar Store, Thornwood's students earn points for positive behaviors, and they have the opportunity to purchase items and experiences with their points. When you order, you should have the option to ship directly to Thornwood Elementary, the list/registry address. If for some reason the address does not show up, you are welcome to ship to or drop off at Keleigh Spinner’s house. (See address below.)
New this year, Thornwood students are no longer required to wear uniforms! However, the TWE nurse is in need of youth underwear of all sizes—boys and girls, with a preference for the smaller sizes (K-2nd)—and sneakers of all sizes. You are welcome to ship your underwear and shoe donations directly to Keleigh, or purchase and drop off at her house:
