The Texas Legislature is meeting this week to decide the future of school funding, and it's likely our last chance to make a case for the resources our students need to succeed over the next two years.
The Senate’s current substitute for House Bill 2, reduces the House’s proposed Basic Allotment increase from $395to just $55.
>> Call to action <<
Please call or email your Texas House and Senate representatives with this message:
"As your constituent, I ask that either:
1. The Senate’s version of House Bill 2 (HB2) go to the floor vote with a significant raise in the Basic Allotment amount, making the Senate’s total funding package equal the $9.1 billion total funding package in the current House version of HB2,
OR
2. The Senate adopt the full House version of HB2 that contains a $395 increase in the basic allotment”.
