Cub Scouts

8/19/2023 2:14 pm

Bunker Hill Elementary Cub Scout Pack 558 invites all BHE boys in grades 1st - 5th to join.

Cub Scouts have fun and adventure in a program that builds character and instills values. Cub Scouting embraces the values of the Scout Law, encouraging scouts to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. These values come to boys in all parts of the Cub Scout program - while they’re having a great time with their friends and families.  Scouting is aimed at building character, learning citizenship, developing personal fitness, and the organization and activities of scouting are geared to fulfilling these.

Pack 558 at Bunker Hill has a lot of fun and exciting activities every year, including: fall and spring campouts, an overnight trip at a local attraction (previously, Moody Gardens, Houston Zoo, & Lone Star Flight Museum), pinewood derby, cake-bake and various other events and activities.  All activities are family events. Yes, scouts’ siblings are welcome!

Previous enrollment is not necessary and parents are encouraged to participate.  There are leadership positions available for anyone who wants to be more involved and advance the role of scouting at BHE! Our goal is to make Scouts work WITH the other BHE activities, including sports, not compete with them.

Spring Branch Education Foundation - Project School Supplies

6/19/2023 2:16 pm

Project School Supplies

When the school doors opened this year, thousands of economically disadvantaged had the tools they needed for success due to Spring Branch Education Foundation’s Project School Supplies.

Generous donors provided more than $113,000 to fund backpacks and supplies to more than 40 Spring Branch ISD campuses, from our littlest pre-kindergarten students to our high school campuses.

59%, or nearly 20,000 students, in SBISD are considered economically disadvantaged. These students have families who make difficult choices on where to use their resources, and pencils, pens, notebooks, and highlighters are not always near the top of the list.

It takes so little to make a difference. While we have benefitted from generous donors to meet the need for the beginning of the school year, we need additional funds to ensure we can meet ongoing needs during the school year and begin to make purchases for the next year.

  • $15 can provide school supplies for a student
  • $330 can provide school supplies for an entire classroom of elementary school students
  • $1,650 can provide school supplies for an entire elementary school grade level

How will you help meet this Big Need in Spring Branch ISD?

Please consider making a donation to SBEF’s Project School Supplies.
