WATCH D.O.G.S. Program
8/4/2024 2:28 pm
Have you heard about the Watch D.O.G.S.?!
About the Program: The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dad's of Great Students) empowers dads to get involved in schools, promoting the importance of education and serving as positive role models for students. This initiative, which started 25 years ago, enables dads to be directly involved in schools, enhance security, and emphasize the significance of education.
We started Watch D.O.G.S. at BHE last Spring and have had great feedback. We are looking forward to seeing more volunteers on campus.
Schedule: This year, we will have 6 dads on campus Thursdays and Fridays helping in the Science Lab and 2 dads helping with Health Fitness on Wednesdays.
Sample Schedule for Watch D.O.G.S

BHE Dad's Club

The BHE Dad's Club is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization formed to provide our children with a well maintained, safe, practical place to practice and play sports both during and after school.
Dad's Club was formed in the fall of 2020 to renovate and maintain the original fields at Bunker Hill, when the school was rebuilt in 2022, Dad's Club helped design the current BHE Fields and accepted responsibility for maintenance, upkeep and improvements to the the fields moving forward. To maintain them to the current standards, which are as good as any athletic fields in SBISD, the Dad's Club allocates funds upwards of $50,000.00 per year for ongoing maintenance, field painting, landscape servicing and water. These fields are used by all children at all grade levels throughout the school day, and are then utilized after school by our BHE-centric athletic teams.
We rely heavily on membership dues and donations for the funding to upkeep these fields. Anyone who has children at Bunker Hill are eligible to join and all are welcome. If you are interested in signing up, please use our GiveButter link. We are also taking sponsorship donations for field signs at BHE. These signs will be hung along the main driveway at the front of the school on the fence bordering the fields. If you or your business would like information on sponsorship signs please contact Adam Stellar (abstellar@gmail.com, 817.876.0832).
Aside from field maintenance, Dad's Club supports BHE by working closely with the PTA for assistance with Teacher's Appreciation and other events at BHE. In addition to the fields, Dad's Club supports our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dad's of Great Students) Program which was launched last year, and it was a resounding success.
if you are not currently involved in the BHE Dad's Club, we would love to have you be a part of our organization. We will be having quarterly events (Happy Hours, Poker Night, Home Run Derby, Pickleball, Corn Hole, etc.) and are a great way to get to know the other Dad's at school.

Cub Scouts
8/19/2023 2:14 pm
Bunker Hill Elementary Cub Scout Pack 558 invites all BHE boys in grades 1st - 5th to join.
Cub Scouts have fun and adventure in a program that builds character and instills values. Cub Scouting embraces the values of the Scout Law, encouraging scouts to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. These values come to boys in all parts of the Cub Scout program - while they’re having a great time with their friends and families. Scouting is aimed at building character, learning citizenship, developing personal fitness, and the organization and activities of scouting are geared to fulfilling these.
Pack 558 at Bunker Hill has a lot of fun and exciting activities every year, including: fall and spring campouts, an overnight trip at a local attraction (previously, Moody Gardens, Houston Zoo, & Lone Star Flight Museum), pinewood derby, cake-bake and various other events and activities. All activities are family events. Yes, scouts’ siblings are welcome!
Previous enrollment is not necessary and parents are encouraged to participate. There are leadership positions available for anyone who wants to be more involved and advance the role of scouting at BHE! Our goal is to make Scouts work WITH the other BHE activities, including sports, not compete with them.
